I’m thrilled to have just released my latest CD, My Own Private Island!  The live unveiling was held at the Habitat, an amazing house concert venue in Bradenton, Florida, graciously hosted by my great friends, Ken and Heather Settlemeyer.

The CD is a collection of tunes I’ve written (all original) about life as we live it in paradise.  I was honored to work with two amazing producers on these songs. Thank you John Kelly and Jimi Camastro!  They took my ideas and breathed life into them.  I’m truly grateful for all of their hard work and support!

And… I had so much fun enlisting the talents of my kids to help bring you this project!  If you’re admiring the cover art, you can commend my 12 year old, Liam.  I’m sure I’ll be begging for his graphic design skills again in the future.  My 10 year old, Tommy offered rhythmic support on That Rockin’ Thing, and my 16 year old, Patty laid down the backing vocals on Paradise Without You and That Rockin’ Thing.

cd cover My Own Private Island is currently available for purchase at CD Baby and soon to be available on I-Tunes and everywhere else you can think of.  Of course, you can turn to my Buy and Listen page on this website to be linked to the CD Baby page to preview and purchase it.

It’s a Booking Bonanza!

Just when I thought I could kick back and enjoy some quiet beach time, my summer season has kicked into full gear and I have quite a few gigs coming up! With only 16 days to go in July, I have 10 gigs to fit in before my August 2 performance at The Sand Box on Anna Maria Island. If you’re in the Sarasota area this month, check my tour dates calendar and stop by to see me! I’m playing some of my favorite venues in St. Armands, Siesta Key, Bradenton, Osprey and Sarasota, ranging from a Parrot Head party to some awesome beachy bars. I’m really psyched about joining up with some other trop rock musicians, and also trying out a few new venues. now-playing-tropical-isle.jpg

I’m also getting close to announcing a major festival booking that I can’t wait to announce! I can’t say anything now, but watch Facebook for the announcement.

In the meantime, stop by and see me at an upcoming event. And if you haven’t reserved your spot for the Sand Box performance on Aug. 2 on Anna Maria Island, you can register on my tour dates page. This is one of the best shows of the year that you won’t want to miss!

Missing Key West

How do you come back from Key West and Meeting of the Minds and settle back into the daily grind? It’s pretty tough…especially when friends continue to post evidence of the great time you had on Facebook and Twitter. Missing the Keys, missing this amazing trop rock event, missing the musicians I played with like Mike Mangum and Key West Chris, missing the tremendous trop rock supporters like Koz from Koz’s Green World Gallery.

DSC_3391_5042But thankfully, living in Sarasota, I’m not missing the beautiful weather, palm trees and beach. I get those on a weekly basis here in Southwest Florida!

To all of my friends who are up north in the cold, wearing ski masks to their football games and dreaming of palm trees and warm sunny beaches, just know that I am here in Florida, living the life and thinking of you.

P.S. We have football here, too.

Meeting of the Minds!

Just got back from Key West for Meeting of the Minds, and as always, it was an awesome trip! It was a busy three days…played the Rum Barrel with Mike Mangum and his Flip Flop Pirates. Joined in the songwriters showcase hosted by Key West Chris at Durty Harry’s with Adrienne Zolodnick, Steve Hopper, Ray West and Renn Hoaloha Loren. Also held the CD release party for Footsteps in the Sand at Koz’s Green World Gallery, which was appropriate since Koz painted the cover! Also played Captain Terry’s Catamaran Cruise and at Ocean Breeze.

My lovely wife was not able to come, so I have no pictures beyond a wickedly beautiful sunset from the cruise. But I do have many amazing memories, quite a few new friends, and a few blisters from traversing our favorite island on the way to gigs. If you were there, hope you had as wonderful a time as I did!
